Be bold be strong………..
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”
When the school year gets towards the end of June thoughts start to turn towards the children in Year 6 who will be moving on to new schools in September. Being a small school all our year 6 children know each other very well.
Transition days at different schools when you don’t know who you are going to meet can be daunting. In preparation for this on June 16th Borden, Bredgar and Milstead and Frinsted year 6 pupils came together at Borden for an afternoon of getting to know each other.
Once everyone had a name tag and introduction had been made getting to know you games were played. The fruit salad game was first so everyone was mixed together- a real school fruit salad. Cards were given out for pupils to draw pictures of their interests and their new partner had to guess what the drawings related to. Finally, some team building games so that everyone had to work together.
After squash and biscuits Mrs Gower lead collective worship on the theme “Be bold be strong”. The pupils shared their worries and concerns about moving on to new schools. Mrs. Gower lead discussion about the Bible verse and how our Christian belief can give us the courage to take risks to make the best use of new opportunities that will come the pupil’s way.
The worship closed with reflection and prayers. Each pupil was given a prayer card to take away with them.
Our best wishes and prayers go to all the year 6 children who will be moving on in July which ever school they attend.
